Chargers Celebrate Win in US

The Melbourne Chargers are riding high after winning the third-place Bingham Bowl at the premiere gay rugby tournament, the Bingham Cup, in the US last month.

Club president Ben Lancken and players from the team joined with the Sydney Chargers in a combined team.

Lancken said the Bingham Cup is living proof that gay men can play sport and be successful on a world stage.

“Our community can produce a world class international sporting event year after year regardless of what people like Jason Akermanis may say,” Lancken said.
